Make a donation in honor of a veteran

Stephen H. Smith

Branch: Army
Served: 1978 - 2002
Hometown: Sidney, OH
I had a great Army career and I have enjoyed almost 9 years of retirement until June of this year. In June of this year I was given the diagnosis of ALS at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. I am ashamed to admit I had no idea of how this disease affected so many veterans until I was diagnosed not to mention so many other people around the world. Now that I do know, I want to get the word out that this is a very horrible disease that doesn't get a lot of attention, probably because there is no money in it, no one to sue. We all must work for a treatment or a cure as fast as possible.
