Numotion Renews Partnership With The ALS Association

Washington, D.C., (April 30, 2018) — Numotion, a leading provider of power wheelchairs and other complex rehab technology, recently renewed its partnership with The ALS Association and extended its commitment to help people with ALS live their lives to the fullest. Numotion first partnered with the Association in 2012.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose the ability to initiate and control muscle movement, which often leads to total paralysis and death within five years of diagnosis. For unknown reasons, veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population. There is no cure.

"Numotion is committed to supporting The ALS Association’s chapters and the critical services they provide to those they serve through our network of local branches," said Mike Swinford, CEO. "Renewing this partnership will increase our ability to collaborate with The Association and their chapters to expand services and create new solutions in the fight against ALS for the thousands of ALS customers Numotion serves and all those living with this disease."

Through its partnership, Numotion will sustain loan equipment programs for people living with ALS. It will also support Walk to Defeat ALS events across the country and the annual Clinical Conference, which brings together health care providers from across the country to discuss research updates and best practices in care for people with ALS.

"We’re grateful for Numotion’s continued support and work to stand with them as we keep the momentum going in our fight against ALS," said Calaneet Balas, president and CEO of The ALS Association.
