Numotion Again Joins Forces with The ALS Association as National Partner

Washington, D.C. (May 30, 2017) — Numotion, a leading provider of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT), including individually configured power and manual wheelchairs, has partnered with The ALS Association to offer support and enhance the quality of life for individuals affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). In 2017 Numotion is a national level partner for the Walk to Defeat ALS®, while maintaining an in-kind sponsorship supporting loan equipment programs for people living with ALS throughout the country.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Eventually, people with ALS lose the ability to initiate and control muscle movement, which often leads to total paralysis and death within two to five years of diagnosis. For unknown reasons, veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as the general population. There is no cure, and only one drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) modestly extends survival.

“Numotion recognizes the valuable services The ALS Association provides through our national efforts, local chapters and clinics,” said Mike Swinford, CEO, Numotion. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with The Association and its nationwide network of chapters to expand services and create new solutions in the fight against ALS.”

“We appreciate Numotion’s continued support of the ALS community,” said Barb Newhouse, President and CEO of The ALS Association, “and look forward to fighting this disease with them as a significant and valued nationwide partner.”
