ALS of Nevada Joins The ALS Association

March 30, 2015

For years, people in Nevada have turned to ALS of Nevada when they had questions or needed help regarding amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The organization has been proudly serving the ALS community for over 15 years.  In order to make the organization stronger and ensure the ability for us to be here for years to come, ALS of Nevada has joined The ALS Association and we are now known as The ALS Association Nevada Chapter.

Joining with The ALS Association will not diminish the work we do here in Nevada, in fact it will enhance the services we already provide: our clinics, support groups, and loan closets, just to name a few.

As with everything, growth and change is inevitable and with the Ice Bucket Challenge last summer, more and more people are becoming aware of ALS. This phenomenal event raised awareness about ALS and as a result, we are serving more people than we were before.  Having the support and knowledge of The ALS Association will only improve our ability to serve those with ALS.

“On behalf of The ALS Association, we are pleased to welcome the Nevada Chapter to our nationwide network of affiliates.  This organization has demonstrated its commitment in support of people with this devastating disease in Nevada,” said Barbara Newhouse, President and CEO of The ALS Association. “I am confident that the leadership of the Nevada Chapter will provide exceptional service to people with ALS, and we will be a stronger national organization because of them.”

Nationwide, The ALS Association fights this disease on every front, through research, care services and public policy. Locally, the Nevada Chapter of The ALS Association will continue to provide exceptional services to the people and families battling this disease.

“We are delighted to represent The ALS Association in Nevada and continue to provide and enhance the services we provide to our neighbors across the entire state of Nevada,” said William Milone, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nevada Chapter. “Being part of the national effort in the fight against ALS is a great honor and will enable our chapter to expand the scope of support here in the state of Nevada.

The biggest change our people with ALS, our supporters, and the public will see is our new website and new logo. We will continue to support those with ALS and their families with our care services coordinator, our clinic teams and the compassion that we have provided for many years.

We would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate becoming the newest affiliate of The ALS Association.
