My Dad developed Bulbar ALS in 2002. He was a cold injured Veteran of the Chosin Reservoir campaign during the Korean War and was a member of the 65th Engineer Combat Battalion, Charlie Company. He later served as a Drill Instructor and spent many summers in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was diagnosed with ALS on his 71st Birthday and died 9 months after his diagnosis. He lost his ability to speak first due to his tongue atrophing. Then his ability to walk, move his arms/fingers, eat/swallowing and breathing were next in that order. Please continue to fight for a cure for everyone!
