Exilda was a WAC. It took a lot of courage for a young girl from a rural town in northern NM to enlist in the Army in 1960! She was extremely proud of her service to our country. She was diagnosed with the monster ALS in November 2012 and died October 30, 2013. Our family thanks the Veterans Administration and the ALS Association for all of the help she received. This help enabled us to keep Exilda in her own home until the minute she died. We are all praying for a cure to be found for ALS.
