Thomas H McVicar

Branch: Army
Served: 1955 - 1957
Hometown: Broomfield, CO
Written by: Kathleen Burke , daughter
My father Thomas H McVicar was enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. He served his country and was stationed at Virginia and Newfoundland. My father developed symptoms of ALS in the fall of 2009. His feet were affected first. He was later diagnosed July of 2010. It sure was hard to watch a man who was very physical and enjoyed a good golf game deteriorate at such a rapid pace. He fought hard for all of his 12 children and wife of 58 years. He finally lost the battle to ALS on September 20,2011. I will always cherish my time with him. I miss and love you Dad!
