My grandpa was diagnosed with ALS later in life, but it did not make the struggles of the disease any easier. He was a family man that derived his happiness from having his loved ones around him, especially his grandchildren. Like any grandpa, he used every opportunity to brag about each and every one of us grandchildren. I miss him every day, but I know he is watching over me and is present at every milestone I continue to make in my life.
