Leo E Williams

Branch: Navy
Served: 1964 - 1968
Hometown: Owego, NY
I was diagnosed with ALS in February 2009, although I suspect I had it much longer, based on the symptoms I had. What prompted me to go to the doctors was the weakness in my arms. After many tests with different specialists, they all concluded the same. I had ALS. At first it was disbelief, then anger and then ultimately acceptance. I have been very fortunate to have the support of my VA specialists, family and friends. To date, I have lost the use of mobility of my arms and my legs are beginning to cramp up. But, I thank the good lord for every day.
