Frederick A Ploof III

Branch: Army
Served: 1980 - 2003
Hometown: Killeen, TX
I retired from the US Army on February 1, 2003 with over 23 years of service. I was initially diagnosed with PLS on April 26, 2006 and on October 5, 2011 I received the true diagnoses that it was actually ALS. I served in the first Gulf War in 1991 where I was exposed to many environmental hazards that may have caused my ALS. I was very active and worked out three days a week by running, biking and weight training. One day while running my left foot kept dropping causing me to trip and eventually falling.
