Make a donation in honor of a veteran

Frank J Long

Branch: Marines
Served: 1980 - 2008
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
It was my honor to serve our great country as an enlisted Marine from 80-88 and an Air Force officer from 94-2008. I would do it again, even knowing the increased risk of ALS to veterans. On 10/14/11 I was diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. The hardest part of the diagnosis is knowing the pain it will cause my amazing wife of 30 years and our 4 wonderful children. In the meantime, we proceed and adapt as this beast dictates, but we are not living in sadness or dread. We have been blessed beyond reason, and that truth is not diminished by ALS. We pray smart minds will find a cure soon. Semper Fi!
