My Father was Kenneth E. Muir born in Winooksi Vermont in 1931. He lived in Rensselaer, New York when he was called from Naval Reserves in 1952 to serve in thr Korean War. He was aboard the USS Waldron Destroyer 699 from 1952-54. He was proud to serve on the Waldron and for the Navy but had a wife and family back home and was equally happy to return. In 1978 at the age of 47 he was diagnosed with ALS and passed away. He was taken from his family and this world too soon. ALS has supported the cause for survivors rights and because of ALSA, my Mother is receiving survivorship benefits.
