My dad was diagnosed last year with ALS, a result of his service in Vietnam and exposure to Agent Orange. Despite his diagnosis and constantly weakening state, dad bravely maintained his lifestyle to the best of his abilities. He would continue to walk the dogs, exercise when possible, read and discuss science and religion. In June he made it from Tennessee to Lake Tahoe, CA for my wedding. He passed away on November 2, 2011 with me and my mom by his side. He will be missed for the kind, compassionate man that he was, and remembered for all positive effects he's had on our lives.
