Ron enlisted in National Guard in Ottawa, IL in the 1st Bn 129th Infantry. He was a rifles specialist and also served in Texas at Fort Hood. He married Jo Ellen Corrie on September 17, 1966. They had 2 children, Jackie and Jeff, and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Keith. He was a devoted Yankees Fan, loved to read and spend time with his family. One of Ron's most memorable moments was traveling to New York and sitting in an actual seat at Yankee Stadium to watch a live game. Ron was diagnosed with ALS in 1997 and passed away on February 7th, 2002 at the age of 58. We miss you Papa!
