Gary L. Woodruff

Branch: Army
Served: 1963 - 1965
Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
Written by: Rita Woodruff , Spouse
Gary enlisted in the Army in 1963. He was in the 82nd Airborne Division. While enlisted he was stationed in the Dominican Republic. Gary decided not to re-enlist in 1966 in order to start his family. He proudly served 3 years. After being diagnosed with ALS, he started each new day with a smile on his face and his usual good nature. The disease weakened him over 3 years and he lost his battle on December 9th, 2006. Since learning that ALS is now a "service connected" disorder, we know he still would have enlisted and served his country, proudly. Happy Birthday Papaw, 11-11-11.
