James Forest Kunkel, Lt Col. USAF (retired), 74 died from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s) March 3, 2007, at his home in Scottsdale surrounded by his family. Jim was born September 17, 1932, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Filer High School in 1950 and went on to attend University of Idaho on an Air Force ROTC scholarship, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture in 1954. Jim continued his education while on active duty completing a Masters Degree In industrial Management at the University of North Dakota in 1967. He also completed the curriculum at the Air War College Air University.
