Bill proudly served in the Air Force in Korea. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2004 and lost his battle in March 2008. Although he fought hard, it was a battle he could not win. He was passionate about wanting to help find the connection between veterans and ALS. He participated in several VA-related studies during his illness. Upon his death, he donated his brain and spinal cord to another VA study.
