Gregory Van Cabell

Branch: Army
Served: 1975 - 2000
Hometown: Charlottesville, VA
Written by: Darlene Cabell , Wife
SGT 1st Class Gregory “Duck” Cabell was diagnosed with ALS in 2005 after presenting with symptoms that affected his ability to work and play softball. He retired from Lexis Nexis after 27 years. ALS limited him physically; not mentally or spiritually. He served in the Army and retired as a Reserves Drill Sergeant in 2000. He was a faithful member of Mt Zion 1st African Baptist Church and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. He spent his last days at Disney World and the Holy Land Daytona Beach where he passed away 8/15/10 surrounded by family. Greg is forever remembered for his strength and courage.
