I served 10 years active duty and 10 years reserve duty in the U.S. Navy. I retired in 2009, a couple of years after my year long tour in Afghanistan. I was diagnosed with ALS 2 years later. No longer able to walk, I depend on an electric wheelchair and continue to work full time.
