Dan was a submarine officer during the later part of the Vietnam War and the 'Cold War'. After being discharged from active duty, He remained in the Naval Reserves reaching the rank of Commander. The Veteran's Administration was our financial lifeline after Dan was diagnosed with ALS in August 2009. Being on full disability the last few months of his life give him the security he needed to focus on what was important to him to complete in the time he had left. Dan died at home, with his family surrounding him March 31, 2010.
