My husband, Bob, served in the Navy on a combat supply ship during the Vietnam war. He was also a 25 year employee of the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Hospital, serving veterans and their families in the Release of Information Department for most of his career at the VA. Bob was diagnosed with ALS in July 2008 and died from the disease on April 8, 2010. He leaves behind a wife of 28 years, two children, two grandchildren, many friends and family members who miss him terribly. Bob was a very good man and well loved. He had to leave us too soon, at 60 years, 8 months and 16 days.
