John A Conway

Branch: Army
Served: 1966 - 1968
Hometown: Woodstown, NJ
My name is John A. Conway. I live in Woodstown NJ. I served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. After being sworn-in, we arrived at Fort Dix NJ to begin basic training. At Fort Dix, I auditioned for the Army Band as a trumpet player. I had many opportunities to perform as a Herald Trumpeter for Post Reviews on weekends. After Basic Training I was assigned to the 384th Army Band at Fort Eustis, Virginia. I also attended USATC Leadership School, which I graduated as Honor Graduate. Truly the best part of my life. I was diagnosed with ALS on July 27, 2011.
