Truman D. Wood Sr

Branch: Army
Served: 1951 - 1971
Hometown: Clarksville, TN
Written by: Diane Turner , Father
I am writing in memory of my Daddy, SFC Retired Truman D. Wood Sr. who served in the US Army for 20 years as a Mess Hall Sergeant. After two tours in Vietnam, one tour in France & Okinawa he retired from Ft. Campbell Kentucky Army Base. He loved to fish & hunt, plant his garden and the outdoors and his family. He was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) in September 2009 and lost his fight in December 2010. He fought it with all his might but we are so thankful that he didn't get as bad as others. We continue to fight for ALS in his memory
