After serving in the Navy during WWII,Mr. Nix later joined the Air Force for a total of over 19 service years. He was active duty in Ms when he was diagnosed with ALS at the age of 42. He was a strong and loving father of 3 and a devoted, loving husband to his wife for over 20 years. He loved God first, his family, and his country. As ALS progressed he could no longer serve in his church, family or country. After ALS was diagnosed in 1968, his family provided all his care- feeding, suctioning, moving.When his oldest son got married he was hospitalized with pneumonia.
