Wendy first heard of ALS when her father was diagnosed in the mid-1980’s. After he died, Wendy wanted to add her efforts to the fight against the disease and joined the then fledgling Greater New York Chapter, where she has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1995. Wendy is currently the Vice Chair of the Greater New York Chapter and Chair of its Governance Committee. Among her contributions to the work of the chapter, Wendy was instrumental in establishing the first ALS clinic in New York, inspired by the ALS clinic then operated by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter in Philadelphia at which her father had been a patient. Wendy has also participated as a peer reviewer in the Department of Defense ALS Research Program, part of the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.

Wendy is a lawyer who recently retired as a partner of the international law firm Proskauer Rose LLP. Her practice focused on commercial real estate and private equity transactions. Wendy received her B.A. in economics from Brown University and her J.D. from Columbia University.
