Professional Position: Director
Company: Haworth Municipal Library
Location: Haworth, New Jersey
Elizabeth Rosenberg

Elizabeth Rosenberg, an independent trustee was renominated by the Board Development and Nominating Committer after completing her first term as a National Trustee.  Ms. Rosenberg previously served as a Board Member of the Greater New York Chapter of the ALS Association for fifteen years. She brings a diverse volunteer and professional background to the Board, but her passion is research.

Four members of her family have been lost to ALS - her mother, aunt, grandfather and a cousin − and her family has been very involved in the fight against ALS for many years.  Her daughter Paige Rosenberg is a founding member of the New York Chapter’s Young Professionals Group.

“After my mother passed away I felt compelled to get involved and try and raise funds for and awareness about ALS research,” said Rosenberg, who was born in New York and has been involved in the fight against ALS since 1993. “This is a terrible disease and we must keep fighting to find a cure. There is cutting edge research going on every day and the ALS Association must be in a position to fund that research”

As the director of the Haworth Municipal Library since 1990, she turned the facility into one of the most efficiently run libraries in the state of New Jersey by implementing innovative  polices and programs that saved money and better met the needs of the public.

Her impressive background in administration, finances, marketing. media relations and writing also are abilities that will benefit the board, who she refers to as a “committed and caring group of people,” in making strategic decisions for The Association.

Rosenberg received her Master of Library Science degree from Long Island University, she earned a Master of Arts degree in history from New York University and a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from the University of Cincinnati.

Rosenberg is married and lives in New York City with her husband, Eugene. They have three children: Adam, Paige and Michael.
