Jonathan C. Roberts

Jonathan C. Roberts, an independent trustee nominated by the Board Development & Nominating Committee is Executive Vice President, Rx Purchasing, Pricing and Network Relations for CVS Caremark, the No. 1 provider of prescriptions and related healthcare services in the nation. He is a seasoned retail pharmacy executive with more than 30 years of experience in retail pharmacy, 18 of those with CVS Caremark.

Mr. Roberts was promoted to his current position in 2008. His diverse career includes management at the pharmacy, store and field levels, as well as leadership roles in business operations and information systems integration. He most recently served as Chief Information Officer for CVS Caremark, where he spearheaded several key initiatives, including the Pharmacy Service Initiative, which has enhanced pharmacy performance at CVS.

Since 2002, Mr. Roberts has been actively involved in fundraising for ALS research, and has helped establish an annual in-store fundraising campaign at CVS/pharmacy. Together, CVS/pharmacy and its customers have raised over $19 million dollars to facilitate and support the ALS Therapy Alliance in its research efforts.

Mr. Roberts holds a seat on the ALS Therapy Alliance Board of Directors.  He was the recipient of the 2009 Spirit of Lou Gehrig Award presented by the RI Chapter of The ALS Association.  Mr. Roberts is also a former member of the SureScripts Executive Advisory Council and the eHealth Initiative’s Leadership Council. He earned his degree in pharmacy from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, and is a graduate of the Wharton Executive Management Program.
