The ALS Association

Javier G. Greenville, South Carolina

My name is Xavier. I've been diagnosed with Als for over 3 years. I started losing strength in my right hand. Now it is going to my left. I depend on my wife, and at the beginning, I felt devastated because I have always been independent. Now I feel much better because I have received lots of love from my wife, kids and grandkids. I give my advice to people with this disease to keep fighting and don't give up. I have been seeing several places that treat ALS, and they are all the same, just waiting on hope. My advice is to live like it is the last day of your life and don't give up. I love my family too much!
